Lucky China is a no-frills Chinese restaurant located on busy E Carson Street in Carson, serving up generous portions that clearly cater to families and groups looking for satisfying, shareable meals. The vibe inside is typical of many neighborhood Chinese eateries—functional and straightforward, with an emphasis on getting the food out quickly rather than creating a fancy dining atmosphere. This makes it a good spot for casual dinners or takeout nights when comfort food is what you want.

The menu leans on classic, well-loved dishes like Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Chicken with a mix of meats, and staple soups such as Hot and Sour or Wonton, which locals seem to return for repeatedly. Portions here tend to be large, reflecting a family-style approach, making it a smart choice for groups who want variety without breaking the bank. The Fried Rice and Chow Mein, in particular, get mention for being fresh and well-prepared, complementing the richer entries like the slightly sweet Mongolian Beef that stands out for those with a preference for a subtly sweeter profile.

Ordering over the phone speeds things up considerably, with meals often ready in under 20 minutes, which fits well into a busy weekday evening or a relaxed weekend when convenience matters. While the space doesn’t offer much in terms of ambiance—think practical rather than polished—the friendliness and efficiency of staff help keep the experience comfortable and straightforward.

Lucky China suits anyone craving straightforward Chinese food that fills the table and satisfies a range of tastes without fuss. It’s particularly appealing for locals who have those go-to dishes in mind, like hot wonton soup or crispy pork chops cooked just right, who want consistent flavors and reliable portions. Visits tend to be busiest around typical dinner hours, but the quick service means even when it's busy, turnover is steady, making it easy enough to drop in or grab food on the go.

We ordered over the phone and the food was ready within 15 minutes. We got Mongolian beef, three item Kung pao (with chicken beef and shrimp), shrimp fried rice and chow mein. Our total was a out 60 bucks but these portions are huge! Definitely family style dining here. The rice was so good and the chow mein was fresh. The Mongolian beef had a nice sweetness to it and the beef wasn't too chewy. The Kung pao was a little spicy not too bad.

Pretty good and big portions! We ordered the Crispy Seasoned Pork Chops, BBQ beef, Special Fried Rice, and the Chopsuey. The Pork Chops were crispy on the outside, but tender inside, which was nice. The chopsuey was not like what I was thinking in my head when I ordered it, but was still good. The fried rice and the BBQ beef though were not as flavorful as we would have liked, but overall it was still a great meal and we had a decent amount of leftovers to bring home! The servers were also really nice, so that gives them added points in my book! :)

Mongolian beef and chicken chow mein. All the Mongolian beef I've ever tried have been delicious this place a little unique, a little on the sweet side but still its good. Maybe next time ill tell the cook if he could not sweet the beef but its good. Chow mein was great! Haven't tried chicken chow mein that delicious in a long while. The place is laid out like a typical Asian restaurant, floors are clean, tables are cleaned as well very quiet just how i like it lol.
